Born in Argentina, and now a United States citizen, Dr. Romero received her initial training in ophthalmology at the Universidad Católica de Córdoba in Argentina. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University in New Orleans before going on to complete a clinical and surgical fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. While at the Wilmer Eye Institute, she was involved in clinically significant research. Following her fellowship, she was selected to remain with the Wilmer Eye Institute as a clinical faculty member at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Dr. Romero is an active lecturer with a national and international reputation and is committed to education and the advancement of the field of ophthalmology.
